YWAM Tuen Mun

YWAM Tuen Mun’s heart is to provide a creative platform for sharing God’s message through performing arts and media. We aim to influence all generations to display God’s beauty through the arts. We love to create with God to communicate His truth, whether it is through performances, media, children’s curriculum or poverty awareness programs.

Live Music Events Production and Field Assignment (ATS 268 / ATS 269)

This course is designed to give the student hands-on experience in producing and engineering music. It is a highly specialized program focused on all technical aspects of sound production for application in a variety of settings including the congregation in the church, worship and music events, concerts, YWAM bases, etc.

Arts Practicum (ATS 319)

Arts practicums are designed to give serious students a deeper experience and training in their area of arts specialty (music, dance, fine arts, etc.) with an emphasis on practical application – usually through performance or teaching. This will usually be a position with a specific project within YWAM that requires further development of their skills.

Advanced Production and Performance (ATS 313)

For those desiring to go further beyond ATS 200 level courses, this course provides additional training and practical experiences to deepen skills and p
ersonal development as artistic directors and producers, through musical theatre, dance, and other forms of performing arts.

Performance and Production Practicum (ATS 322)

Students will apply the learning of the lecture phase as part of a team bringing creating a performing arts production. The practicum begins with a research phase begins. The school will travel to other cities with strong artistic movements to study the cultural riches of said places to acquire and apply them in the creative process. This is followed by the production phase where they will study different aspects of production such as wardrobe, makeup, set design, illumination and sound, script study, choreographic and musical composition etc. Students will work together with their peers and teachers to create a final piece. The school will end with a tour of the final production.

Performance and Production (ATS 321)

The school prepares people with advanced skills for participation in a performing arts production. With a central focus on the professional development of the artist’s technique and character, the school offers students training in one of three different specialties: dance, acting, or music. Parallel to the technique studies, all students of the AME will receive teachings on biblical foundations of the arts such as character of the artist, co-creating with God, and the Spiritual power of the Arts to name a few. They will also learn general skills for making a production happen. The training is in the context of a team developing and performing in a production together.
