Island Breeze Ministries Hawaii

We run training schools on cultural redemption, local community programs for children and adults, international evangelistic tours partnering with other Island Breeze teams and serve the YWAM Kona campus events through Polynesian expressions of music and dance.

South Roots

South Roots is a ministry that focuses on cultural redemption, using performing arts for social transformation. Established in 1997 out of Island Breeze International, South Roots International has a mandate of Cultural Redemption (restoring a culture to God’s original design) and Reconciliation, using performing arts as a tool.

Island Breeze Ministries, Missouri

Island Breeze (IW) is a Polynesian Cultural Expression team designed to empower each member to identify and embrace the ethnicity they carry, expressing and celebrating its uniqueness. We are called to equip students and staff in the area of Cultural Redemption with tools to engage people groups effectively and relevantly, to see them reconciled with Christ and walking in their original design.

One Voice

God is worthy of all praise, and He wants to be worshiped through the diverse cultures He has given to each nation and people. To this end, we worship in the culture God has given us and challenge other nations and peoples to do the same.

All Nations Art Community

Located in Ome, Tokyo, we are a gathering of artists who create under the inspiration of our Creator and help others do the same. We inspire artists to discover and achieve their God-ordained purposes through dance, art, English, and prayer.

School of Culture and Art and Field Assignment (ATS 225 / ATS 226)

This specialized art school focuses on preparing the students to understand their personal and cultural identity. They learn how to incorporate cultural art forms in leading worship, sharing their faith, and teaching others in the context of the broader culture or society. Each course will include some general teaching about culture and the arts, and then focus on the culture and art expressions of the nation in which the course runs and/or the nation where outreach is focused.

Arts Practicum (ATS 319)

Arts practicums are designed to give serious students a deeper experience and training in their area of arts specialty (music, dance, fine arts, etc.) with an emphasis on practical application – usually through performance or teaching. This will usually be a position with a specific project within YWAM that requires further development of their skills.

School of Dance II and Field Assignment (ATS 317 / ATS 318)

Following the School of Dance II (or following ATS 117 in Brazil) this field assignment will give students opportunity to experience and minister with what they have been learning in the studio. It will build on the previous School of Dance modules.

Principles of Redeeming Cultures School (ATS/HMT 227)

This course presents principles for recognizing God’s truth and righteousness in the cultures of the world, affirming those cultures, and seeing them transformed by the work of God. Students learn to view history and their own and/or other cultures from a biblical perspective; they also learn to develop strategies for influencing society toward righteousness, making the Word of God the standard for living.
